I have been an Ally customer for several years. The rates are consistently above the competitors and the customer service is far and above superior to most financial institutions. I'm a customer for life.

Ally has an unusual way posting their interest to your account. The interest is in a separate column from your total almost as though you haven't yet earned it. I find this very disconcerting. I don't think I will re-invest as my cds mature.

One of the things about Ally bank is NORTH AMERICAN people to answer the phone They are friendly ,helpful and most important I have no problem understanding their speech.

The rates offered by Ally are better than the local banks (and the big banks) but it seems the rates are not that much higher than Money Market.

Excellent and quick service. Everyone is very courteous and willing to help the customer to solve any problems. Excellent online banking.

While Ally Bank is a competent online banking system, better than area banks, the rates are ridiculously low . Of course they are slightly better than other banks but across the board, slightly better is only a tenth of a point. Don't waste your time on IRA CDs or you will be working well into your eighties.

I wish to commend your customer service team for the handling of an account closure due to the death of my father-in-law. The funds were dispersed (without any penalty for early withdrawal) in a timely matter to all four beneficiaries and with a minimum of fuss. We telephoned once and the lady informed us when the account would be closed and when the checks would be mailed. Everything happened as we were told. We are very grateful for the great customer service!
