Very happy with my account and closed my others. This has everything I need; online access, high interest for free, perks, and friendly customer services. A+++

When you make a transfer they send you an email saying it will be in your account on x date. They decline to include another sentence that says, that it won't actually be available for use until the day after x date. Beyond belief that they cannot add the actual availability date. Complaints fall on deaf ears. They don't care about the problem.

Opened the checking account recently, and I like it so far. Made deposit by my phone, no monthly fee, no min. balance, free atm card, free transfer, and free checks. What can you ask for more?!! However, the only down side for me is that it takes 7 days to clear the echeck for a new account which needs 30 days to become an "old" account.

Ally Bank is a very well run bank. Your employees are very helpful when they are contacted. This is a very good bank and I will highly recomend it to anyone.

I'm one of those people who hates calling any companies customer service department. When I called Ally the first time I was pleasantly surprised. The person spoke clear English, was polite and helpful. I thought that was great but I wasn't counting on that type of service continuing. The next time I called I got the same service and it's continued since then. I've already recommended Ally to my friends and I will continue to do so as long as this type of service continues. The last thing you want is for the Bank that holds your hard earned cash to have their employees be rude, incompetent and uncaring and yet that is what other banks put us through. Thanks Ally for making a difference.

There are a lot of hidden fees, and I have had a bad experience opening my account (checking and savings) due to incomplete or inaccurate information given to me by their customer service reps. Ally uses the word "may" in their terms and conditions when they should use "will" in all cases where they can keep your money for a variable period of time with any kind of transfer or electronic deposit you do. Ally will drag any transfer or deposit out to the maximum extent possible so they can earn interest at your expense, and they are not forthcoming with the rules of the game. Once you understand the rules, you can decide to work with them or find another way, which I am doing, but learning the rules is trial and error for the first two months. I switched to Ally from Ing because of their higher interest rates, and so far I am sorry I invested the time to do it. Not worth the additional money earned from the marginally higher rates! Knowing what I know now, I would not have moved to Ally.

I think I have the same issues a lot of other people have had in opening an account. Very easy to open BUT because of the day of the week of my deposit, it took two weeks to get my debit card and have access to my funds. Fortunately, I planned for the delay but was displeased by the length of time it took. In this day and age, I would think it would be much quicker to get access to funds. I am excited about the ATM usage as i use my debit card for everything and got hammered with ATM fees from my other bank. Customer service has been very helpful and I have yet to use the bill pay feature. I am doing a trial run but am hoping to have Ally as my primary account.

I am very inquisitive; and it took a lot of research for me to locate and decide to bank with Ally. I am SO HAPPY That I Did!!! The customer service and banking experience if Phenomenal! Not to mention some of the Best rates out there. I have searched far and wide and over all, Ally is a Bank I tell my Family and youth about because anyone can save, the question is, Do you Earn!?!? Thank you Ally! -Q
