I was fed up with another "Big Bank" and their extra fees that seemed to surprise me on a regular basis. I was hoping to find a local bank to join, but then decided the strictly online version might be a good move, considering it's how I operate anyways. I still feel connected with the bank and love their customer service. After so many disappointments at my other bank, it was finally nice to see money put into my account by this bank, not surprisingly taken out! It's important to have the flexibility to use any ATM and be able to connect to a representative while on the go. I look forward to continuing my service with Ally and can trust that my experience will continue to be positive from here on out. Thank you!

Best checking interest rate I could find anywhere! The ease of use with Mobile Check Deposit from my cell phone is amazing as well. Long gone are the daily calls to the bank and endless small mileage car trips for deposits. I am very happy with the customer service thus far. Wait times are minimal and the agents are always helpful and courteous. Thanks!!

it is almost impossible to get simple issues resolved in a normal timeframe. Each time you contact Ally to get assistance, it is like the first time you have called on that issue... they do not appear to have any record keeping of previous contacts on the same concern. They tell you that the issue will be resolved in one to two days then three to five, etc. This is very frustrating as a client.

I am new customer that opened my account 2 weeks ago. If you are a new customer less than 30 days, your deposit will be held hostage by Ally bank for whopping 9 days even if it is a "Bank check" guaranteed by another bank. You will basically won't be able to use your Ally bank account for the first 10 days, so do not close your other bank account. You will notice that Ally bank website will have many errors during your visit. Links are working one time then will be broken on another second. Chat feature works one day, does not work on another. If you are used to other established national banks, Ally will not satisfy you. On the other hand, if you are looking for a secondary bank account with low balance which you don't need to access the funds quickly, you would enjoy no-fee accounts.

Overall, I am happy with Ally. Pros: customer service, rates Cons: - I wish I'd known PopMoney required the recipient to establish a log in at Ally in order to receive payment. Recipients have complained to me about how annoying the process is. - I wish I'd known that echeck deposits took roughly a week to hit your account. I feel like I need to constantly check to make sure they went through. - I wish I'd known that it takes about a week to issue a check through Bill Pay.

I can not say enough wonderful things about Ally Bank. When I first saw the commercials I thought there has to be a catch. However I have been baking with Ally for 2 years and there are is not one catch or gimmick. Thank you Ally

I am new to ally bank and i am slowly trying to make the transition from physical banking to online banking. So far i have transferred money, paid a bill with a check, and deposited a check via cell phone and everything has been flawless and done in a timely manner.

This is my first time using an online bank and I've gotta say I really like the system thus far. I've opened up an interest checking and an online savings account and things have been running fairly smoothly. First off, positive feedback: The rates that this bank provides are some of the best from what I've researched. No minimum balance, no monthly fees and I can earn interest just by having money. Not only that, I have millions of ATMs to choose from and I won't get charged a fee. If I ever have any questions about Ally Banking, I can promptly call customer service and receive immediate assistance. As I have just finished school not too long ago, I've racked up my fair share of loans and have about six different websites I have to go to pay each off. Ally has actually simplified this for me by allowing me to set up "payees" and manage all my loans and debts from one account. Thanks :) Now things that I wish were a bit more efficient: Transfers were my biggest issue. External transfers take a while so plan ahead if you need the money immediately and what not. The initial deposit takes forever. And I do realize that the website is undergoing changes but the flash either doesn't function properly in Torch/Google Chrome or the website looks like a bunch of amateur web designers put it together. Its not enough to impair functionality but it does get irksome. I have yet to experience a check deposit as I usually rely on Direct Deposit but I suppose I'll just have to write another review when the time comes.
