You keep me informed of the activity on the account via emails, every check you have sent, when sent, when it cleared. That's great! When I have called you you have been polite and know your material. Whenever I ask a question via e mail, you respond promptly via secure email. I am extremely satisfied with this bank. The fact you do not charge a fee helps, but the main thing is your service. Outstanding!!!

You take too long to transfer money from other accounts. Also, you need an Ally to other client Ally account transfer rather then pop money. This service takes too long to transfer. At Wells it is done immediately from Wells customer to Wells customer.

I LOVE my Ally account - it has been the best choice in banking I have ever made! The only thing that could be improved, is if they had the deposit by picture, where you take a picture of the check (front and back) and send that in as your deposit. I have to have a "local" account to make deposits easier then mailing them in

I've been with Ally Bank for more than a year and it's perfect for me for when I was in college to now that I've graduated. I can be anywhere in the country and use any ATM without the worry about fees. Every time I call customer service they're friendly and helpful when I don't understand something. I wish I would have switched sooner!

One of my friends mentioned to me that Ally Bank was a great bank. I ended up opening 3 accounts!! I do have to say that the customer service is great. I am able to chat with an associate who can help me with just about anything I need. I am truly pleased.

I'm amazed that the "brick and mortar" banks can stay in business with the services Ally provides. They reimburse you for all ATM fees (even if it's another bank's ATM), provide interest rates greater than 0% (if they're using your money for loans they should compensate you a little), and once you have had an account for a short while, the full amount of your deposited checks is available the next business day (no more waiting a week or more for checks to clear).

This bank use to be good as time goes on they get slower and slower. Many time I have made an e-deposit and they tell me latter sometimes days latter there was a problem. One time I talk to a person on chat they told me what to do, I did it and latter they told me there was a problem. I agree, I opened an account.

They offer FREE standard checks for the life of your checking account with them. What a GREAT perk! Customer service has always been very helpful. Depositing is made so easy with the phone app! I LOVE BANKING WITH ALLY!

I did not realize that for the first month after you open an account, Ally puts a hold on your deposits for 7 business days. If I had known this I would have kept my old checking account open for that month, and would not have been late on so many bills! Even after the first month, your deposits will be held about 2 business days after the date of deposit (see rules for exact details, this doesn't apply to payroll direct deposits, bank wires, etc). Again, I didn't realize, as I am used to standard banking rules that make your funds available on the day of deposit. Furthermore, your deposits must be completed by 4pm EST to count as having been done on that day. For those of us on the west coast, that is 1pm, and pretty darn early as a deadline. For many people, these are probably not big issues (I mean, everybody else in the world has direct deposit, right?), but for me right now, it causes inconvenience and stress. Everything else about Ally is great - rates, customer service, the ease of the online portal, no fees. I would still definitely recommend this bank! I just wish I'd known about these factors so I could have planned better.
