I switched to Ally Bank just a few months ago and, in a nutshell, there had been some issues with fraudulent activity on my account. I had to close my account and open a new one, blah blah blah. But every single time I had an issue Customer Service was able to answer my questions quickly. I don't think I will ever switch banks based on the Customer Service alone. Top Notch.

I have loved banking with Ally from that late night I opened my account over a year ago. The only thing I did not like was it wasn't easy to deposit paper checks. That has now been solved with the smartphone app which includes photo deposit. The last piece has been put into place and it works great!!! Great service, great rates, great app, fabulous bank! Thanks!

Overall my experience has been good so far. Materials arrived relatively quickly, setting up transfers between my savings, brokerage, and old checking was pretty painless. I left my old bank because their online and mobile banking was terrible. Ally's online banking is quite good, but the Android App needs some serious work (though it's better than my old bank). It's the only app I know of that doesn't exit when you press the back button from the main screen, and check depositing has issues when you deposit more than one check in a row (photos don't show up). The App also needs to be more tablet friendly. Cleaning up the Android app will lead to a 5 star review from me.

Opening my account was easy and everything from deposits and withdrawals to smartphone apps to Ally's customer service has been a breeze! Their customer service (either online chat, by phone or email - which I've used all) has been awesome! When I sent an email with a question I really didn't expect much back other than the typical generic response but they fully answered my question! I admit I was nervous at first moving to a fully online bank but so far I have nothing but good things to say about Ally!

So far I've been thrilled with my interest checking account. Customer service has been excellent and I haven't found a fee yet (free checks, ATM fees reimbursed). Leaving Bank of America for Ally was a fantastic decision.

Ally does not just promise: They deliver. This is the best banking experience I have had since I got my first savings account back in '78 when my mom and dad took me down to the bank for the first time. Thanks Ally. A+.

I was out of state visiting family, and didn't think to call and let Ally know that I'd be using my debit card out of state. I made some purchases and within 3 minutes received a phone call asking me to verify them! I was thrilled. I've forgotten to call and inform my bank before and had my card declined for abnormal use. Not much worse than being away from home with no access to your money. I also love the iPhone app. I am able to deposit checks quickly, pay my bills, and transfer money right from my phone! Thanks Ally!

I do not feel comfortable linking a Visa or Mastercard to my checking account and am very disappointed Ally does not offer a plain ATM Card option.

Never had such an account and have phoned many times for help. Always nice, friendly and very helpful. Would STRONGLY recommend
