I love Ally Bank! At last there is a fair bank that doesn't try to fleece their customers at every turn. Even my old credit union, that was supposed to be member friendly, changed their rules so that I was getting charged fees every time I used their debit card. Compare that to Ally Bank, where not only do I not get charged fees for using my debit card, I get a refund for ATM charges! By the way, I am constantly telling friends, family, coworkers, and sometimes even strangers how much I like Ally. Hopefully, they are listening. You guys ROCK!!!

I am happy with the banking in general (good rates, atm fee reimbursement, etc The smartphone and and website are poorly designed and unreliable. On the web, i get randomly logged out for no reason, and on the smartphone app, I cannot deposit checks fifty percent or more of the time.

I came to Ally after getting fed up by all of the fees that were being charged by my local bank on my non-interest bearing checking account. For the most part, it has been a very good move. With a few enhancements, it could be GREAT! Pros: -- Account was easy to set up -- Good mobile app for iPhone -- Love the mobile deposit feature -- Better interest rates than I could find locally -- Reimbursement for ATM fees -- Customer service is very good, both over the phone and via online chats Cons: -- Quicken functionality is limited. Even after upgrading to most recent version, pending transactions do not download. -- No calendar feature showing a projected running balance -- this is essential for a joint account so that both individuals know what has been paid and what is still available at all times. -- Online transfers between my Ally account and my non-Ally account are not possible because the accounts are not titled exactly the same way. -- Very few local banks (WV and MD) participate in Pop Money so I have been unable to use that feature. -- No mobile app for Windows Mobile phones so my husband can only access our account via the website.

$500 per day withdrawl limit, I get it for security reasons. But it would be nice if you could quickly and easily raise the daily limit for those occasions when you might need extra (say a quick trip to Vegas) and didn't have to spend 20 minutes on the phone talking to 2 or 3 different people to make it happen and then only to $1k which must be done in 2 separate withdrawls. Gotta keep those ATM fee's rolling in I guess.

Good Afternoon, The other day i needed to take $500 out of my checking account. I was not able to because the daily limit. The ATM i was using charged a fee of $3 so that would put me over the daily limit. Is it possible to raise the daily limit to $510 so that i wont have to borrow money from a friend if this ever happens again. Will

7 day hold is a very bad business plan because it forces customers to wait 2 week for their pay to go through. I'm currently running low on gas and it's all thanks to Ally.

An absolutely stellar experience from signing up, to day-to-day operations. Ally does everything and more that I expect a modern bank to do. Online banking is easy and manageable, everything integrates with apps and management tools, and customer support is fast and knowledgeable. Couldn't ask for more!

I was very skepticable with not having a local bank, but Ally bank id very customer friendly and making deposites are easy also. I love and no more local bank lines.

The customer service is outstanding. But the way they hold your deposit for 9 days is unheard of. I had several problems with the online banking. And there is nothing I can do to receive my funds although they have been approved and posted.
