Simply Easy and Attractive Interest Rate

The coolest part of this type of CD is two fold, you have the option to have the interest rate earned on an existing 2 year CD raised if interest offered goes up and receiving a loyality bonus for maintainin your CD when it matures for another 2 years.

I have a large amount of money with Ally Bank. I believe I am a "loyal' customer; therefore when I decide to change money from money market or savings into a CD, I feel I am entitled to a loyalty bonus at that time, not just when the CD renews.

Besides haveing great rates, ally has excellent customer service. I called for info about online banking that wasn't clear to me, reached a real person very quickly (after business hours), and received clear answers from a lovely woman (who had a foreign accent but that was no problem). My wish is that ally would send an alert when rates go up, especially for raise-your-rates CDs.

Inefficient Trust Department

Suggest your Trust Department recruit some efficient and competent staff. It took them more than one month to acknowledge receipt of the deposit check and trust paper application we sent.. Two weeks after we mailed the check and trust papers to Ally, Trust Department advised us to stop payment of the deposit check since it was not received. Then two weeks after stopping payment of the check, we were adivsed that the check was received and posted to our account! All in all a very frustrating experience.

Alright, I know that this is not a bricks and mortar bank. And I know that internet banks' customer service record is less than stellar. And I know that this was GMAC. But their customer service is the best!

Too long to transfer funds to new acct.

I opened an account on April 29 and today is May 6th and the funds still have not been transfered from my Credit Union account to Ally. The two test deposits and one withdraw were completed days ago. I called Ally and questioned the delay but they could not give me a reason and said to wait for a day or so and see if it finally transfers. That's way too slow in todays electronic age.

You offer online banking, every time I open an account I cannot complete the transactions online and end up on the phone. The same thing happened again this week and I am left in limbo not knowing if the transaction will be complete. Online it says verified (deposit) yet I get emails saying it wasn't. Person on the other end of the phone couldn't figure it out either but if the account doesn't get funded, I am taking my business elsewhere
