The people that answer the phone are the most pleasant courteous .and helpful . The fact that they are north american is appreciated. I would recomend ally to my friends.

Customers would like to keep minimum number of accounts with least possible banks. If one CD is made with a large amount, the penalty when breaking the CD is high, but there is no incentive for keeping as one large CD. That's an Ally policy biased against customers, favoring Ally. If there is more risk in keeping as one large CD, then why there is no reward for doing it? Other banks, especially international, offer not only better CD rates, but also a jumbo rate ( usually for more than 25K or some such large amounts ).

You advertise the great option of being able to raise the rate on the CD - then once you open it, it's impossible to find what the current rate would be and how to raise it if you wanted to. Not worth having a lower rate than a non-option CD.

No jumbo rates for CDs
