I already have an account. How do I set up a new external account to transfer funds?
It’s easy. Just login and go to the account list page. Then, select “add external account” from the right menu. We’ll ask you to provide the following information for the new external account:
- Routing number
- Account number
- Account type
- Account owner
We’ll also ask you whether you want to verify your account online or by mail. Online verification is the easiest and quickest way to get your new external account set up. There are just three steps:
- We’ll send two test deposits of less than $1 to the new external account.
- Within three to five days, you should see the deposits in your account. When you see them, write down or make note of the exact amounts.
- You then go to your Ally account and click on the “verify external accounts” link to verify the exact amounts of our test deposits.
That’s all there is to it.
