Making a Payment FAQs

  • Can I make extra payments on my vehicle account?

    Yes. To make an extra payment:

    1. Log in to Ally Auto Online Services.
    2. Select Make a Payment from the My Vehicles page.
    3. Select the desired account, payment type, date and amount.
    4. Verify and authorize your payment.

    You can also make extra payments using Ally Auto Mobile Pay.

    Making extra payments will not change your scheduled Auto Pay payments. They will continue as usual on the same day each month.

    To make an extra online debit card payment for a fee, you'll need to visit the third-party service provider

  • When will my online payment be applied to my vehicle account?

    Payments scheduled:

    • Today before 3 pm ET are applied after 3 pm ET today
    • Today after 3 pm ET are applied after 6 pm ET today
    • After 6 pm ET for a future date, or on a Saturday or Sunday, will be applied on the scheduled payment date
  • What accounts can I use to make a payment online?

    You can use your checking or savings account. Make sure you have your bank account number and your routing number available when scheduling payments.

  • Can I view or cancel an online vehicle payment?

    To view or cancel an Ally Auto Online Services payment:

    1. Log in to Ally Auto Online Services.
    2. From the My Vehicles page, select Pending Payments.
    3. Find the pending payment and select Cancel.

    Ally Auto Online Services payments scheduled:

    • Today before 3 pm ET are applied after 3 pm ET today.
    • Today after 3 pm ET are applied after 6 pm ET today.
    • After 6 pm ET, for a future date, or on a Saturday or Sunday, will be applied on the scheduled payment date.

    View or cancel an online debit card payment.

    Online debit card payments can be viewed or canceled through the third-party service provider.

    Online debit card payments scheduled after 4 pm ET are applied on the following business day unless a different payment date is selected.

  • I attempted to make a payment, but I'm not sure if it was accepted since I didn't receive a confirmation. How can I check the status of the payment?

    You can verify the status of the payment by checking the pending payments link. If your payment is listed, rest assured your payment was successfully scheduled. If your payment is not listed, it was not scheduled. If you need to make a payment you can:

    If you choose a different payment method, and you incur a late fee or a processing fee because you were unable to schedule payment online, please contact us at 888-925-ALLY (2559). We may reimburse you for the late fees.

  • Can I make a payment without my statement?

    Yes. You can schedule payments online any time, unless you're enrolled in Direct Pay. If you mail your payment, be sure to include your name and account number on each scheduled payment. Attach a statement if you choose to use a single check to make payments on multiple accounts.

  • How can I pay on a vehicle account that has been charged off?

    Note: Please include your account number on your check.

  • How do I update my payment account information?

    1. Log in to Ally Auto Online Services
    2. From the My Vehicles page, select My Payment Accounts under Manage My Profile.
    3. Select Enter a new payment account.
    4. Enter your new payment account information (account type, routing number and account number).
    5. Authorize and save.

    You can also add a new payment account while actively making a payment using Ally Auto Mobile Pay.

  • Will I be charged a fee to make a one-time payment online?

    We don't charge a fee to make a payment through Ally Auto Online Services, but third-party bill pay sites will charge additional fees for payments made outside Ally Auto Online Services.

    The best way to ensure you're making your payment on the Ally Auto website is to type allyauto.com directly into your browser, or use your web browser favorites.

    You can also enroll in Auto Pay to have your monthly payments withdrawn directly from your checking or savings account on the day you choose.
