Start with the email.

We'll email you personalized instructions when it’s time to upgrade. At that time, simply follow the email or on-screen prompts when you log in to upgrade. We’ll guide you through setting up multi-factor authentication and creating a new username, if necessary. You won’t need to change your password.

Finish on the app.

We’re retiring the Ally Auto app and replacing it with the Ally: Banking & Investing app. You'll need to download it to access your account going forward. Here, your information and preferences will stay the same as they are now.

FAQs

Most Ally Auto customers will be able to log in and complete the process with existing credentials.  Some will be prompted to create a new username when it is time to upgrade. Even if this applies to you, you won’t need to change your current password. If you also have a bank, investment, mortgage or credit card account with us, you’ll log in using those credentials and then link your Auto account, allowing you to access all your accounts in the same place and under one set of credentials.
