2026 TDOY Nominee
Ben Faricy
President of The Faricy Boys
Colorado Springs, Colorado

Ben Faricy is one of 47 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 109th annual National Automobile Dealers Association Show in Las Vegas on February 5, 2026. He was chosen to represent the Colorado Auto Dealers Association in the national competition — one of only 47 auto dealers nominated for the 57th annual award from more than 20000 nationwide.
The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry's most prestigious and highly coveted honors. It recognizes the nation's most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service.
A third-generation dealer Faricy leads a family-run Jeep and Chrysler dealership in Colorado Springs founded in 1942 by his grandfather Owen Faricy. After graduating cum laude with a business degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and working in mergers and acquisitions and later private equity Faricy returned to join his father and brother at The Faricy Boys in 2003. He then learned the business over several years through firsthand experience serving in nearly every role in the dealership before becoming president in 2009.
“Despite early uncertainty that came with leaving the finance industry to join our family business, I became more confident in the decision I had made each year that went by,” Faricy said of transitioning from private equity to the car business. “A combination of inspiration from the generations that came before me invaluable experience outside of the auto industry hard work entrepreneurial spirit and learning from the ground up has shaped my entire career in this business.”
His leadership was put to the test in 2009 when Chrysler declared bankruptcy four months after he had become president. With production halted Faricy made a decisive call to purchase the entire inventory of two closed Jeep dealerships in Colorado a $3 million move that gave The Faricy Boys a significant competitive advantage in an uncertain time.
“This decision ensured we had the inventory to meet the demand we hoped would exist and resulted in a spiked market share that has remained at 2-to-1 versus our local competition ever since.”
Today Faricy is focused on shaping a people-led culture. He has implemented a leadership framework that empowers his team to make decisions and grow their careers. We have framed this as 51% ownership and 100% accountability allowing the freedom to make mistakes, learn and grow — and to feel the reward when success ultimately follows,” Faricy explained.
His community contributions are equally impressive demonstrated by consistent support to several organizations every year throughout southern Colorado with a focus on feeding the hungry sheltering the homeless and supporting healthcare for children. Since 2021 his dealership has served as the title sponsor for the Care & Share Food Bank’s Recipe for Hope Luncheon contributing $250,000 to the event that has helped provide over 9 million meals to families in need across 29 counties in southern Colorado.
Faricy and his team are also committed to fostering future generations of auto technicians and improving the environment at the same time. Since 2013, his dealerships have donated over 200 high-emitting vehicles to Colorado’s Clear the Air Foundation, which uses the proceeds from scraping those cars to provide scholarships to new technicians. Additionally, his general manager helped launch a new automotive technician program in local high schools, helping build clear career pathways into the industry.
Dealers are nominated by the executives of state and metro dealer associations around the country. A panel of faculty members from the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan will select one finalist from each of the four NADA regions and one national Dealer of the Year. Three finalists will receive $5,000 for their favorite charities and the winner will receive $10,000 to give to charity, donated by Ally.
In its 14th year as exclusive sponsor, Ally also will recognize dealer nominees and their community efforts by contributing $1,000 to each nominee’s 501(c)3 charity of choice. Nominees will be recognized on ally.com/go/tdoy , which highlights the philanthropic contributions and achievements of TIME Dealer of the Year nominees.
“At TIME, our commitment to recognizing the exceptional contributions of automotive dealers remains as strong as ever,” said Jessica Sibley, CEO of TIME. “The TIME Dealer of the Year award continues to celebrate those who not only excel in their profession but also make a meaningful impact in their communities. We are thrilled to continue this legacy in partnership with Ally.”
Doug Timmerman, Ally president of Dealer Financial Services, said, “Auto dealers are the backbones of their communities, providing civic support and significant business leadership. Ally is proud to recognize the unwavering commitment these TIME Dealer of the Year nominees are living every day through their volunteerism, sponsorships, and support of charitable causes. They are the epitome of community heroes, making important and positive impacts in the lives of the people they serve.”
Faricy was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year award by Matthew Groves president and CEO of the Colorado Auto Dealers Association.
Faricy and his wife live in Colorado Springs and are the proud parents of three children.
