Making a payment FAQs
We offer several payment options.
Online Auto Pay (automatic withdrawal)
Set up automatic recurring payments.
One-time payments
Schedule one-time payments online or use Ally Auto Mobile Pay. Download for iPhone and Android.
Your bank's bill pay feature
Make sure you know your payment amount and Ally Auto account number to set up a bill payment through your bank. Your bank may also require additional information, including the payment address.

Debit card payment
Make a one-time online debit card payment through a third-party service provider. You'll need to know your Ally Auto account number, your debit card number, and your ZIP code. Keep in mind, the third party may charge a fee for its payment services in addition to your payment amount.

You can pay through ACI Pay by calling 1-888-631-8930. You'll need to have your Ally Auto account number, your bank account number or card number, and your ZIP code on hand. Keep in mind, ACI Pay is a third party who may charge a money transfer fee for its payment services in addition to your payment amount.

You can visit a MoneyGram location near you to make a one-time payment for a fee.
Western Union® Quick Collect®
You can visit a Western Union Quick Collect® location near you to make a one-time payment for a fee.

After logging in and selecting your vehicle from your Snapshot, select Make a Payment on your vehicle details page. Enter your payment amount, follow the instructions and submit your payment.
You can also pay by selecting Payments from your vehicle details page and following the prompts.
Auto Pay
You can also enroll in Auto Pay and have your payments automatically withdrawn from your account monthly. Auto Pay and one-time payments are also available using Ally Auto Mobile Pay. Download for iPhone® and Android™.
Online Debit Card Payment
You also have the option to make a one-time online debit card payment through a third-party service provider. Keep in mind the third-party may charge a fee for its payment services in addition to your payment amount.
Refer to the payment schedule in your contract to see when late charges will be assessed.

You can pay extra towards your vehicle by simply entering more than the scheduled amount due when you make a one-time payment or enroll in/edit Auto Pay.
You can make one-time online debit card payments through a third-party service provider. Keep in mind the third party may charge a fee for its payment services in addition to your payment amount.
When we receive your monthly payment, we first apply it to earned and unpaid finance charges that have accrued since your last payment.
The remaining funds are then applied to the outstanding balance of amount financed and to the other amounts you owe under your contract in any order we choose.
We don't charge a fee to make a payment, but third-party bill pay sites will charge additional fees for payments made outside of Ally.
The best way to ensure you're making your payment on the Ally website is to type ally.com/auto into your browser, or use your web browser favorites.
You can also enroll in Auto Pay to have your monthly payments withdrawn directly from your checking or savings account on the day you choose.

If your financial institution returns your Auto Pay or one-time payment, we will present the payment to your bank again. If your bank does not honor the payment after the second submission, that payment will be reversed from your account.
We'll send you a communication, either by U.S. mail or email, to let you know the payment was returned. Once you have sufficient funds in your payment account, you'll need to resubmit the payment online or via the payment methods listed below.

Yes. You can schedule payments online any time, unless you're enrolled in Direct Pay. If you mail your payment, be sure to include your name and Ally Auto account number on each scheduled payment. To pay towards multiple vehicles with one check, include a list of the account numbers with your check.
To check the status of your payment, select your vehicle from your Snapshot to view your vehicle details page.
From your vehicle details page, you can check the status of your payment under Payment Status at the top of the page. You can also view all payments within Transactions at the bottom of the page.
If your payment status doesn’t update within 15 minutes, you can try again or call us at 1-888-925-2559.
You can update and save your payment account information for all of your vehicles from your Payment Accounts page.
If you obtained Ally financing through Clearlane or another online marketplace, you can make payments and manage your account at allydirect.com.
You can also pay by phone by calling 855-636-2559. A third-party service provider fee will apply.
