Making a Payment FAQs

  • Can I make extra payments while on Auto Pay?

    Yes, to make extra payments:

    1. Log in to Ally Auto Online Services
    2. From the My Vehicles page, select Make a Payment
    3. Select the desired account, date and amount
    4. Verify and authorize your payment.

    You can also use Ally Auto Mobile Pay and follow the instructions to complete your payment.

  • When will my online payment be applied to my vehicle account?

    Payments scheduled:

    • Today before 3 pm ET are applied after 3 pm ET today
    • Today after 3 pm ET are applied after 6 pm ET today
    • After 6 pm ET for a future date, or on a Saturday or Sunday, will be applied on the scheduled payment date
  • What accounts can I use to make a payment online?

    You can use your checking or savings account. Make sure you have your bank account number and your routing number available when scheduling payments.

  • Can I view or cancel an online vehicle payment?

    To view or cancel a scheduled payment online:

    1. Log in to Ally Auto Online Services
    2. From the My Vehicles page, select Pending Payments
    3. Find the pending payment and select Cancel

    Payments scheduled:

    • Today before 3 pm ET can be cancelled before 3 pm ET today
    • Today after 3 pm ET and before 6 pm ET can be cancelled before 6 pm ET today
    • After 6 pm ET for a future date, or on a Saturday or Sunday, can be cancelled before 3 pm ET on the scheduled payment date

    You can also use Ally Auto Mobile Pay to view or cancel a pending payment.

  • I attempted to make a payment, but I'm not sure if it was accepted since I didn't receive a confirmation. How can I check the status of the payment?

    You can verify the status of the payment by checking the pending payments link. If your payment is listed, rest assured your payment was successfully scheduled. If your payment is not listed, it was not scheduled. If you need to make a payment you can:

    If you choose a different payment method, and you incur a late fee or a processing fee because you were unable to schedule payment online, please contact us at 888-925-ALLY (2559). We may reimburse you for the late fees.

  • Can I make a payment without my statement?

    Yes. You can schedule payments online any time, unless you're enrolled in Direct Pay. If you mail your payment: Be sure to include your name and account number on each scheduled payment. Attach a statement if you choose to use a single check to make payments on multiple accounts.

  • Where do I mail my auto finance payment?

  • How do I update my payment account information?

    To add a new payment account on the Ally Auto full site, log in to Ally Auto Online Services:

    1. From My Vehicles page, select My Payment Accounts under Manage My Profile
    2. Select Enter a new payment account
    3. Enter new bank account type (checking or savings), routing number and account number
    4. Provide your authorization and select Save

    You can also add a new bank account using Ally Auto Mobile Pay:

    1. On the Make a Payment screen, tap on From
    2. Select the Add Payment Account button
    3. Enter new bank account type (checking or savings), routing number and account number
    4. Authorize the payment by tapping on Accept
