Vehicle Service Contracts FAQs
FAQs
-
Yes, you can purchase a new contract any time during the manufacturer's New Vehicle Limited Warranty or during an active APP contract.
Contact your local dealer to see if your vehicle is eligible.
-
The cost depends on factors like the make and model, vehicle condition, deductible, age and mileage of the vehicle at the time the plan is purchased, and the contract level you select. You can purchase Ally Premier Protection for new and used vehicles. Your dealer can provide you with pricing options.
We offer $0, $100, $200 and $500 deductible options, plus a $250 Disappearing Deductible feature. If you select the $250 Disappearing Deductible option, your deductible will be waived if you return to the dealer where you purchased your Ally Premier Protection contract for covered repairs. Availability depends upon your dealership, vehicle and contract.
You can purchase Ally Premier Protection by visiting a participating dealership.

With Ally Premier Protection, the repair facility manages the paperwork and the claim payment. You're responsible for paying your deductible, anything we don’t authorize and charges not covered by your agreement. You must get authorization before repairs can start. If you paid for repairs, call us at 1-800-631-5590 to request reimbursement.

You can transfer your vehicle service contract to a new owner by going to the Vehicle Coverage Center to complete the transfer process, or you can cancel the remainder of the contract for a prorated refund. An administrative fee may apply.
-
The term begins at the time you purchase the contract and at the current odometer reading at the time of purchase. For example, a 24,000-mile/24-month contract purchased for a vehicle with 40,000 miles will end when the odometer reaches 64,000 miles or 2 years after the contract began, whichever comes first.
If you purchase the Powertrain Wrap or Certified Pre-owned (In-Service Date) coverage, the term is based on the vehicle’s original in-service date and the vehicle having 0 miles. It ends when you reach your term or mileage limit, whichever comes first.
-
In most cases, you can finance Ally Premier Protection in your retail finance contract and include it with your monthly vehicle payments. Your dealer can help add your vehicle service contract in your retail finance contract.
You can also finance Ally Premier Protection outside your monthly vehicle payments. We’ve teamed up with a company called Service Payment Plan to offer interest-free 12- 18- or 24-month payment plans. To learn more about these options, ask a participating dealer.

To cancel your Ally Premier Protection, call us at 1-800-631-5590 . You can receive a full refund if you haven't made any claims and cancel within 60 days of the start of your contract.
Otherwise, your refund amount will be based on days or miles of coverage remaining, whichever is least. There may also be administration fees for cancellations.
Claims paid prior to cancellation will be deducted from refunds where allowed or required by state regulation or law. Refer to the cancellation terms of your Ally Premier Protection contract for more info.
