If and what type of tax form you receive depends on your situation.
You can always view your tax forms online. Log in, select Profiles and Settings, then Documents and then Bank Tax Forms. If you're using our app: log in, select Menu and then Statements and Tax Forms.
1099-INT
You'll receive a 1099-INT if you're the primary account holder and the total interest paid on all of your accounts during the previous year was at least $10 (includes closed accounts), you had backup withholding, or made an early withdrawal from your CD before the maturity date. You could also receive a 1099-INT under $10 if the same Tax Identification Number was used to report interest on a single account, joint account, or an account opened in the name of a Trust.Depending on your paperless settings, you'll receive your 1099-INT online or by mail. We’ll mail 1099-INTs by January 31 and they should arrive within 2 weeks. They're available online by January 31 and accessible for 7 years.
1099-R
We send a 1099-R if you received a distribution of at least $10 from your IRA during the previous year.Depending on your paperless settings, you'll receive a 1099-R online or by mail. We’ll mail 1099-Rs to the IRA account holder by January 31 and they should arrive within 2 weeks. They're available online by January 31 and accessible for 7 years.
1099-MISC
You'll receive this document if you had at least $600 in miscellaneous income from Ally Bank. Miscellaneous income includes the combined total of ATM fee reimbursements, cash, or cash equivalents (like a gift card). We'll mail the 1099-MISC to the primary account holder's mailing address by January 31. It should arrive within 2 weeks.5498
We send 5498 tax forms to reflect contributions made to your IRAs, its fair market value and required minimum distribution information.Depending on your paperless settings, you'll receive a 5498 online or by mail. We’ll mail 5498s by May 31 and they should arrive within 2 weeks. They're available online by May 31 and accessible for 7 years.

To view your tax forms, log in and select Profiles and Settings, then Documents and then Bank Tax Forms. Choose the form you wish to access, and it will automatically download to your computer as a .PDF file.
To print the form after downloading, locate the file on your computer (either in your computer's Downloads folder, or in your browser's Downloads menu), open the .PDF file, and select the “Printer” icon in the .PDF file's toolbar.
Primary account owners can access tax forms online going back 7 years. We’ll mail forms for custodial (UTMA/UGMA), estate, guardianship or representative payee accounts.

Paperless setting: Paper and online
Identification Number (TIN) as the Grantor. We'll send a combined 1099-INT to the mailing address associated with the account. We'll mail a copy of your tax form by January 31.
Accounts opened in the name of a Trust using a Tax Identification Number issued by the IRS. We'll mail a copy of your tax form by January 31, and it should arrive at the mailing address associated with the account within 2 weeks.
Personal accounts converted into the name of a Trust in the same tax year. If you used the same Tax Identification Number, we’ll send a combined 1099-INT to the mailing address associated with the account. If you used a different Tax Identification Number, you'll receive two separate 1099-INTs. We’ll send a 1099-INT for accounts in the name of a Trust to the mailing address associated with the account and deliver a 1099-INT for the personal account based on your paperless settings.
