  • What is Ally Bank's routing number?

    Our routing number is 124003116.

  • How can I find my account number?

    1. Log in to your online bank account
    2. Choose the name of the account that you'd like to view
    3. Next to Account Number select unhide 
    4. Select hide to mask it again
  • Where can I find out how much interest I earned on my account?

    From allybank.com:

    1. Log in to your Ally account
    2. Choose an account from the my accounts page
    3. Select the More Details link in the right hand column on your account details page

    The Interest YTD information is displayed on the right on your account details page. If you earned interest on the account in the previous year, the Interest Prior Year information will be displayed below the YTD information.

    From Ally Mobile Banking:

    1. Log in to your Ally Mobile Banking app or m.allybank.com from your web-enabled smartphone
    2. Choose an account from the dashboard

    The Interest YTD information is displayed in the screen's header. If you earned interest on the account in the previous year, the Interest Prior Year information will be displayed by swiping the header to the left.

  • Where can I find Ally Bank branch locations?

    Ally is an online bank, and you can find us at www.allybank.com. We don't have physical bank branches, and we don't have the expenses that come with operating them. It's one way we are able to keep our rates competitive.

    With Ally Bank, you can bank online, with Mobile Banking, or by phone 24/7. We have people waiting by the phones to help you. Call them anytime at 1-877-247-ALLY (2559).

    Plus, if you use any ATM in the U.S., we'll automatically reimburse ATM fees charged by other banks at the end of your monthly statement period. To find a nearby ATM, use the Ally ATM & Cash Locator.

  • Will I receive a tax form for my Ally Bank account(s)?

    Tax form type You'll receive a tax form if: Your form will be:
    1099-INT
    • You're the primary account holder on the account
    • The total interest paid on all of your accounts during the previous year was at least $10. This includes accounts you may have closed.
    • You made an early withdrawal from your CD before the maturity date
    • Mailed by January 31 and should be available within 2 weeks
    • Available online by January 31
    • Available online for up to 18 months
    • Tax forms for Trusts are only available by mail at this time
    1099-R
    • You received a distribution of at least $10 from your IRA during the previous year
    • Mailed by January 31 and should be available within 2 weeks
    • Available online by January 31
    • Available online for up to 18 months
    1099-MISC
    • You received more than $600 in ATM fee reimbursements during the previous year
    • Mailed by January 31 and should be available within 2 weeks
    • 1099-MISC forms are only available by mail at this time
    5498
    • You receive a 5498 tax form for your IRA every year to reflect contributions to your IRA accounts, the fair market value of the IRA and required minimum distribution information
    • Mailed by May 31 and should be available within 2 weeks
    • Available online by May 31
    • Available online for up to 18 months
  • When will I receive my 1099-INT tax forms?

    We'll mail our forms on or before January 31. Forms should arrive at the primary account holder's mailing address by February 14. You'll receive a 1099-INT if the total interest paid on all of your accounts during the previous year was at least $10.

    Your forms are also available online for 18 months (Tax forms for Trusts aren't available online at this time). To see your current 1099-INT form:

    1. Log in to your Ally account
    2. Under the Accounts header, select Statements from the left-hand navigation
    3. Under the 1099 statements header, select the Form 1099-INT for the most recent tax year

    Please call us at 1-877-247-ALLY (2559) if you have questions or don't receive a 1099 form by February 14.

  • When will I receive my 1099-R tax form for my IRA account?

    We will mail our forms on or before January 31 to the IRA owner's mailing address. You'll receive a 1099-R if you received a distribution of at least $10 from your IRA plan during the previous year.

    Please call us at 1-877-247-ALLY (2559) if you have questions or if you expect to receive a 1099 form but don't by February 14.

  • How do I order deposit slips or envelopes?

    To order deposit slips and envelopes online, you need to have an Interest Checking Account, an Online Savings Account, or a Money Market Account.

    To submit your request:

    1. Log in to online banking.
    2. Select your Interest Checking, Online Savings or Money Market account.
    3. From the right-hand side of the page, select the Order deposit slips/envelopes link.
    4. Check the items you wish to order, and select submit.

    For your security, we'll send you a secure email asking you to confirm your address before we mail the ordered items. Once your address is confirmed, your items should arrive within 3 to 5 business days.

  • How do I change my Online Banking password?

    You can change your password in a few simple steps:

    1. Log in to Online Banking
    2. Choose My Profile
    3. Go to Login & Security, and change your password

  • How do I change my beneficiaries or add a new one?

    Follow these instructions to add or change your beneficiaries:

    1. Log in

    2. Select Beneficiaries under Account Services on the right side of the Account List page

    3. Select the Add Beneficiary button or edit/delete link to make your changes

  • How can I change or add to my IRA beneficiaries?

    You can change or add beneficiaries any time by logging on to online banking, calling us at 1-877-247-ALLY (2559), or completing and mailing the Change of Beneficiary form.

    If you are married and would like to appoint a primary beneficiary other than or in addition to your spouse, you must submit a notarized Change of Beneficiary form that includes your spouse's signature. Before making any changes, however, you may wish to consult with a tax professional or the IRS for more information.

  • How many beneficiaries can I have on my IRA?

    You can have up to 6 total beneficiaries (primary and contingent) for each IRA.

  • How do I change the address on my bank account?

    To change the home and mailing addresses associated with your account, simply:

    1. Visit allybank.com then log in to your account
    2. Select My Profile
    3. Select Address & Contact
    4. Update your address then select submit

  • How do I know you have my correct information?

    Start by checking the information on your statements and account documents. You can log in to your online Ally Bank account and update some of your personal information in My Accounts and Online Banking. For changes to your name and address, we will need to verify your identity in order to protect you and your accounts. Simply call us at 877-247-Ally (2559). We're here to help.

  • How do I dispute a transaction on my statement?

    You can call us to discuss your account 24/7 at 877-247-Ally (2559).

    You can also send us a letter. Be sure to include your name, account number, the transaction dollar amount, and an explanation as to why you believe there is an error. Mail your letter to:

  • What if I think there's been an error on my statement?

    While we make every effort to keep accurate records, if you feel we've made an error in any way, please call us at 877-247-Ally (2559). We'll update any incorrect information promptly.

  • Can I download my Online Banking account activity?

    Yes. You can download and save your account activity for the last 18 months in one of the following file formats: Comma Separated Value (CSV) or Quicken®.

    Once logged in to Online Banking, go to I want to on the right side of the page and select the Download account activity link.

  • What do I do if I forget my Automated Telephone Banking PIN?

    Simply log in to your account to reset your PIN. You can also call us at 877-247-Ally (2559), and we will reset your PIN right away.

  • What is the difference between a primary and contingent beneficiary?

    Your primary beneficiaries are the people who will receive the funds in your account at your death. Contingent beneficiaries will receive these funds if all primary beneficiaries are deceased.

  • How do I enable cookies?

    In order to fully experience our site, you may need to enable cookies on your computer. It's easy to do: just find your browser type below and follow the steps.

    2. Select Internet Options.   

    3. Click the Privacy tab.

  • How do I enable Javascript?

    Depending on which Internet browser you are using, you can enable Javascript via the following methods:

    Internet Explorer (version 6 or 7)

    1. Select Tools from the menu bar at the top of your screen.

    2. Select Internet Options, then the Internet Zone icon.

    3. Select Custom Level, and scroll down to the Scripting Section.

    4. Select the Enable checkbox for Active Scripting.

    Mozilla Firefox (versions 3.x)

    1. Select Preferences, then Content.

    2. Select the Enable Javascript checkbox.

  • Can I view information for my closed Ally account(s)?

    You can access your account information online for 60 days. If you've closed all your Ally accounts, you can request paper statements and tax forms by calling us at 1-877-247-ALLY (2559). We're available 24/7.

  • Does Ally Bank issue certified checks, money orders or cashier’s checks?

    We don’t currently issue certified checks or money orders, but we can issue cashier’s checks.

    Call us at 1-877-247-Ally (2559) to request a cashier’s check – at no charge.

  • Does Ally Bank offer business banking accounts?

    No. We don’t currently offer business banking products.

  • Does Ally Bank offer credit cards?

    No. We don’t currently offer credit cards, but we do offer debit cards for each Interest Checking Account or Money Market Account you have with Ally.
