  • Does Ally Bank offer anti-virus or anti-malware software to its customers?

    Yes. Ally Bank offers its bank customers Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM – an anti-virus, anti-malware software that detects, removes and protects devices from malicious software – free of charge.

    Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.

  • Why do I need an anti-virus software that includes anti-malware?

    Many anti-virus software programs include anti-malware, which looks for suspicious behavior by files or software that anti-virus may not detect.

    Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM includes anti-malware protection to provide this added security. It won't interfere with existing anti-virus software on your device, so it can be used as an extra layer of protection.

  • What is malware?

    Short for malicious software, malware gets installed on your computer or mobile device without your consent and is most commonly used to steal your information and login credentials, which can lead to identity theft and financial crime.

  • Do I need to protect my mobile device with anti-virus/anti-malware?

    Yes. The same types of threats that target computers, such as viruses and malware, can also affect your mobile devices.

    You can protect your Android mobile device with Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM – an anti-virus, anti-malware software that detects, removes and protects phones and tablets from malicious software.

    Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.

  • Can I use Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM to protect my iPhone®, iPad® or iPod touch®?

    Webroot® SecureAnywhereTMis not available for iOS devices. However, there are a variety of secure browser apps on the App Store that can provide further protection for your devices.

  • How do I download and activate Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM on my AndroidTM device?

    1. First, you’ll need a unique license key to activate the software. Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.
    2. Then use the Google Play app on your device and search for "Webroot Security and Antivirus".
    3. Once installed, open the Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM app.
    4. Sign in or register when prompted, and follow the on-screen instructions.
    5. Tap your device’s menu button.
    6. Select Register.
    7. Choose Activate.
    8. Enter the unique license key provided to you in the Security Center.
  • Where can I download Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM security software?

    Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download to download and install Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM onto your Mac, PC or AndroidTM device. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.

  • What do I do if I have problems installing Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM security software?

    If you have any questions about installing Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM, or need help using the software, please go to Webroot.com and select Support at the top of the page. You may also call Webroot® Support at 1-866-612-4227.

  • How do I get a license key for Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM security software?

    Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.

  • Where do I enter my license key for Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM security software on my Android device?

    1. Once installed on your Android device, open the Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM app.
    2. Sign in or register when prompted, and follow the on-screen instructions.
    3. Tap your device’s menu button.
    4. Select Register.
    5. Choose Activate.
    6. Enter the unique license key provided to you in the Security Center.
  • I lost my Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM license key. How can I get a new one?

    Go to ally.com/webroot and select Log in to Download. Once you log in to your online banking account, you’ll be directed to the download page where a license key will be presented to you.

  • Does my Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM license key expire?

    Your license key is good for one year, and it will be automatically renewed every year at no cost to you for as long as you remain an Ally Bank customer and Ally continues to offer this service.

    Each device you choose to install Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM on requires a new license key.

  • Can I protect more than one device?

    Yes. Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM can be added to Macs, PCs, and AndroidTM devices. Simply log in to online banking at allybank.com, choose the Webroot offer and follow the on-screen installation instructions. Each device you choose to install Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM on will require a new license key.

    Webroot SecureAnywhere is not available for iOS devices. However, there are a variety of secure browser apps on the Apple Store that can provide further protection for your devices.

  • Where can I learn more about the Webroot® SecureAnywhereTM security software offered by Ally Bank?

  • What happened to my Prevx security software?

    Prevx is now Webroot® SecureAnywhere. You will be automatically upgraded from Prevx to Webroot® SecureAnywhere.
