For a brand that just celebrated its first birthday, Ally Bank has been getting lots of industry recognition and kudos from experts in personal finance.

Last December, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance put Ally Bank on its “2009 Best List” in the Credit & Banking category as “Best Bank Account.”

Ally’s Online Savings Account, a high-yield savings account, was recognized for its combination of higher yields and convenience.

The Kiplinger’s story noted Ally’s customer-friendly features, such as no minimum to open an account, no monthly fees and no minimum balance. Ally also offers 24/7 customer service and “Sleeping Money Alerts,” which notify customers when they could be earning more money. The award appears in Kiplinger’s December 2009 issue.

More recently, Money magazine editors named Ally Bank’s online savings account the “Best Savings Account” in its annual guide of the “100 best money moves you can make.” Money selected the account for its consistent competitive rate – and because the Ally Bank online savings account has no monthly fees and no minimum balance.

When we launched a year ago we were set out to create a better banking experience. That approach is resonating with customers, and we’re continuously aspiring to improve and spread the word.
