Getting started
Building a CD Ladder is a pretty simple idea. The key is opening a group of CDs with staggered terms and maturity dates, as you'll see in your sample ladder.
You'll determine your ladder by first choosing the longest term CD you'd like to open — 3, 4, or 5 years — and the total amount you'd like to start with.
