How to Invest

Demand Notes are unsecured debt obligations of Ally Financial offered in the U.S. by prospectus only. Investing is easy:

  1. Confirm eligibility
    Demands Notes are available to all employees and retirees of Ally Financial, as well as their immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings and grandparents of the employee or retiree). Eligibility also extends to associated Ally Financial dealers and their employees.
  2. Read prospectus (PDF 184 KB)
    Before investing, review the prospectus, registration statement and other documents we filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. You can get these at no charge by visiting EDGAR, the SEC's online database of corporate financial information. If you have questions or would like us to mail a prospectus, call Ally Financial at 1-800-684-8823.

    Include your initial investment of $1,000 or more with your completed investment form and mail to the address on the form.

To begin investing in Demand Notes, eligible investors must complete the investment form and mail it along with your initial investment to the address at the top of the form.

  • What are Demand Notes?

    Demand Notes are unsecured floating-rate obligations of Ally Financial. They're a convenient way for members of the Ally Financial family to invest funds directly with Ally Financial.

  • Am I eligible to invest?

    Demand Notes are available to all employees and retirees of Ally Financial, as well as their immediate family members (spouse, children, parents, siblings, and grandparents of the employee or retiree). They are also available to auto dealers with a retail or wholesale financing relationship with Ally Financial, and their employees.

  • Are Demand Notes FDIC insured?

    Demand Notes are not FDIC insured nor bank guaranteed and may lose value. They’re not deposits, but are unsecured floating-rate obligations of Ally Financial that mature on demand.

  • How do I invest in Demand Notes?

    For complete details, rules and policies, you should first read the prospectus (PDF 184 KB) and ensure that you are eligible to invest. To get started, simply complete and mail the investment form (PDF 569 KB) along with your initial investment of at least $1,000 to:

  • Can I invest in my Demand Notes electronically?

    Select "electronic investment" in section 5 of the investment form. Electronic investments can be made automatically (at the same time each month) or whenever you want in amounts of $50 or more. You can also make electronic investments online by following your bank’s instructions and using this Automated Clearing House (ACH) information:
