If you’re using Ally Auto, it’s simple – just enter more than the amount due in the Payment Amount field. You’ll then be able to choose whether to apply the extra money to the total amount financed (what you think of as making a “principal payment”) or to future payments. If you’re not sure what that means, it’s cool. We’ll explain the difference and how it can affect your payoff schedule when you make the payment.
If you’re using one of our other payment methods, simply include the extra amount with your regular payment. Then, we’ll apply the extra money toward your next regularly scheduled monthly payment.
