Vehicle Service Contracts FAQs
FAQs
-
Costs.
The cost depends on factors like the make and model, vehicle condition, deductible, age and mileage of the vehicle at the time you purchase the plan, plus the contract level you select. You can purchase Ally Premier Protection for new and used vehicles. Your dealer can provide you with pricing.
Deductible options.
We offer $0, $100, $200 and $500 deductible options, plus a $250 Disappearing Deductible feature. If you select the $250 Disappearing Deductible option, your deductible will be waived if you return to the dealer where you purchased your Ally Premier Protection contract for covered repairs. Availability depends on your dealership, vehicle and contract.
Purchasing Ally Premier Protection.
Visit a participating dealership to purchase Ally Premier Protection. Plus, ask about your financing options:
- Use your auto financing. In most cases, you can use your auto financing to purchase Ally Premier Protection. Your dealer can help you add it to your retail finance contract and include it with your monthly vehicle payments
- Use Service Payment Plan. Ask your dealer about Service Payment Plan, a company we teamed up with to offer 12- 18- or 24-month payment plans with no interest
-
It’s best to go to the dealership where you purchased the contract for covered repairs, but you can take your vehicle to any repair shop in the U.S. or Canada.
To request a reimbursement, give us a call at 1-800-631-5590. With Ally Premier Protection, the repair facility manages the paperwork and the claim payment. Know that you're responsible for paying your deductible, charges not covered by your agreement and anything we don’t authorize.

Usually, the term starts at the time you purchase the contract and at the current odometer reading at the time of purchase. For example, generally, a 24,000-mile/24-month contract purchased for a vehicle with 40,000 miles will end when the odometer reaches 64,000 miles or 2 years after the contract begins, whichever comes first.
If you purchase a Powertrain Wrap or Certified Pre-owned (In-Service Date) contract, the term is based on the vehicle’s original in-service date and the vehicle having 0 miles. It ends when you reach your term or mileage limit, whichever comes first.

Contact your dealer to find out if your vehicle is eligible. You can purchase a new contract any time during the manufacturer's new vehicle limited warranty or during an active contract.
Cancellations.
Give us a call at 1-800-631-5590. If you haven’t made any claims and cancel within 60 days of the start of your contract, we’ll refund the full amount. Otherwise, we’ll base the refund amount on the days or miles of coverage remaining, whichever is least.
Note: We’ll deduct any claims paid before cancellation from your refund if state laws or regulations require it. Refer to the cancellation terms of your Ally Premier Protection contract for more info. Administration fees for cancellations may apply.
