As you take on the world, smartphone in hand, we don’t want to slow you down. Together, you and your mobile side-kick can do just about anything these days. And that’s the way it should be.
We’re excited to share that we now support three of the top mobile pay options: Android Pay®, Samsung Pay™, and Apple Pay®.
All three options allow you to make payments for goods or services directly from your mobile device without providing card information at each transaction. The Ally Bank debit card can be used to make secure mobile payments with Android Pay, Samsung Pay, and Apple Pay.
To activate Android Pay or Samsung Pay, you have to add and verify your card information on your mobile device. First, provide your card information within the Android Pay app or the Samsung Pay app to enroll in mobile payments. Then you will need to follow the onscreen instructions in order to verify your account. Once verified, you’ll receive an email confirmation which means you’ve successfully activated either Android Pay or Samsung Pay!
Android Pay is available on any NFC-enabled device running Android OS 4.4 (KitKat) or higher. Samsung Pay is available on the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy S7 active, Galaxy S6 edge+, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 active. More information on Apple Pay can be found here.

I’d love to see support for Microsoft Wallet! Ally has done a great job having a Windows Phone app, which definitely is one of the many reasons I love this bank – if you guys support Microsoft Wallet for tap to pay, I’ll be incredibly happy!

We’re glad to hear you’re enjoying the Windows Phone app, Ezra! Supporting Microsoft Wallet is not currently in our pipeline, but we will keep the community updated if that changes.

I can't get my Ally card to work on Samsung or Google pay on my Galaxy S9. I get a failure to connect to card issuer error.
Ally on July 16, 2018 at 12:55pm
We're sorry to hear that, Quincie. If you'll give us a call at 1-877-247-2559 or chat with us online at ally.com a member of our team would be glad to look into this further and help troubleshoot with you.

I regularly use my Ally card with Google Pay, however it seems like anytime I go to an establishment that uses the Clover system, I end up with "Transaction Denied".. but if I use the card it's fine. One of the shop owners indicated they see that a lot with Ally cards. Are there any known security or compatibility issues between Ally and Clover? Am I missing a setting somewhere (or are they)?

We're sorry to hear about this! Please give us a call at 1-877-247-2559 so we can learn more and have a member of our team can look into this further.

Add Garmin Pay
Danielle on January 2, 2022 at 7:12pm
Please support Garmin Pay. Small banking institutions like the Central Minnesota Credit Union and the Greater Nevada Credit Union, among hundreds of others, support Garmin Pay. A large bank like Ally certainly should too.

Hi Danielle, we appreciate your feedback, and we’ll sure to share this with our team for further consideration.
